Nancy O'Dell started her career in the broadcast industry as an anchor at WPDE-TV, Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Later she was a morning-news anchor and crime report at WCBD TV. O'Dell's stories in Charleston regarding the police's tolerance when it comes to DUI cases led to a State Law Enforcement Division to investigate. This led to states authorities enforcing more rigorous guidelines in these cases. The Associated Press awarded Ms. O'Dell her Best Report of the year Award for all South Carolina media. In the years following her stint in Charleston O'Dell served as co-anchor and investigative reporter for the NBC Miami station WTVJ-TV prior to joining Access Hollywood as a weekend co-anchor and weekday correspondent. The present role of O'Dell as host of Access Hollywood is complemented by her work on NBC News Today, Dateline NBC, and NBC News. She covered events such as The Oscars, The Emmys, The Grammys, and The Golden Globe Awards. Alongside co-hosting the Pre-ShowArrivals in preparation for The Emmys & The Golden Globes. In addition, she hosted for the Miss USA pageant and the Miss Universe pageant.
